When you come in to our clinic for your appointment, here is what you can expect:
Before your first visit, we will send you some electronic paperwork for you to fill out at your convenience.
You will be given the option to be measured in the area being treated before and after your treatment. We typically measure before and after the first treatment and then again after your 8th appointment.
Most people want to be measured so they can track their progress through treatment, but we recognize this might be sensitive or uncomfortable for some people, so there is absolutely no pressure to be measured. We have measured people before the first treatment and after the last treatment, before and after each treatment and not at all. Our goal is making you as comfortable as possible and supporting you throughout your treatments, just let us know what will work best for you!
The Emerald Laser light is on part of the light spectrum that is greatly filtered by fabric. The light needs to be shone onto bare skin. We recommend people undress to their underwear, gym shorts, or wear loose fitting clothing that can be pulled up and out of the way easily. We do not have robes or medical style gowns on site, due to COVID-19.
For the first 15 minutes, you will lay down on your back on a massage table. Since your skin needs to be exposed, there is a full-size heating mat on the table to keep you as warm and comfortable as possible! We have plenty of pillows and bolsters to make you comfortable on the table.
When you are all set up, we will put the laser in position and turn it on for 15 minutes.
The Laser is on a hydraulic arm that needs to be raised and lowered by a staff member and can only be moved with a password. So if you ever need assistance during your treatment let us know, someone will be sitting at the desk that is just on the other side of the curtain and will be able to assist you immediately.
At 15 minutes, we'll come back into the room and help you turn over onto your stomach. We offer a face cradle, or if it is more comfortable, we can stack some pillows to help prop you up.
After the second 15 minute session, we will come in and move the laser so you can get up.
Special Notes:
Studies have found that people get the best results when they drink 20oz of water before and after each appointment. If you bring it in with you, we can refill your water bottle in the office so you are ready to go with your second bottle.
If you have mobility restrictions that would make it challenging or impossible to go up or down 3 stairs, please be aware that at this time, our laser room is only accessible using stairs. We are hoping to move to a fully accessible location in the coming months. Please reach out and let us know your needs and we will contact you as soon as we are able to accommodate you!

We also ask that you cancel your appointment if you have a fever, cough, runny nose or sore throat or if you have had known exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within 7 days.
